Guidelines

We will be accepting entries for only 5 categories of styles (using BJCP 2021 Guidelines):

  1. Rational Belgians: Belgian Pale 24B, Belgian Blonde 25A, Single 26A, Dubbel 26B, Tripel 26C
  2. Unamerican Lagers: International Pale 2A, International Amber 2B, International Dark 2C, Munich Helles 4A, Festbier 4B, Helles Bock 4C, Märzen 6A, Rauchbier 6B, Dunkles Bock 6C, Muich Dunkel 8A, Schwarzbier 8B
  3. Sour Patch Kids: Berliner Weisse 23, Flanders Red, 23B, Oud Brun 23C, Lambic 23D, Gose 23G, Brett 28A, Mixed Fermentation 28B, Wild Specialty 28C, Straight Sour 28D
  4. Tales from the Darkside: English Porter 13C, Irish Stout, Irish Extra Stout 15C, Sweet Stout 16A, Oatmeal Stout 16B, Tropical Stout 16C, Foreign Extra Stout 16D, American Porter 20A, American Stout 20B, Imperial Stout 20C
  5. King Charles: Ordinary Bitter 11A, Best Bitter 11B, Strong Bitter 11C, British Golden 12A, Australian Sparkling 12B, English IPA 20B

2025 Competition Guidelines & Information

  • 1st, 2nd, and 3rd awarded for each of the 5 categories.  Overall B.O.S. from the 5 first place winners will also be awarded.
  • The winning BOS entry will be brewed at Brewery Becker, with the help of the BOS brewer. Please note that if Brewery Becker determines that it is not economically feasible to brew the BOS entry (e.g., high maturation time, crazy ingredients, cider, mead, etc.), they will work with the BOS brewer to choose an alternative recipe from the brewer.
  • Point system to determine the club winner… 4 points for 1st, 2 for 2nd, and 1 for 3rd.  Also, 3 points for B.O.S.. Total points possible is 38.
  • Entries are limited to 3 max entries per brewer, and each entry must be in a separate BJCP 2021 sub-category.
  • Max entries for the entire competition = 150
  • Brewer MUST be an active member of any of the participating clubs to enter.
  • Entry fee is $5 per entry.  Payable via Paypal when registering online.  Or you can attach cash or check (payable to TBD) to one of your entries.
  • Two bottles or cans for each entry.  Please… 12 oz bottles or cans. NO BOTTLES or CANS BIGGER THAN 12 OZ ACCEPTED!  Labels can be printed from the competition registration website. Rubber band your labels to your entries.  If your style requires the declaration of extra information, please include it. The competition software knows what to ask for based on style, but there is a comment box if you need to add additional information
